Education Concerts

Maestro Kirk Muspratt will lead the concert and engage the audience in a visual presentation about the music, the instruments used in the orchestra and the history of the music. Study guides are shared with registered classrooms prior to the concert. This concert aligns with Indiana Academic Standards for Music and Social Studies.

This year the Symphony is excited to present the education concert “Pictures at an Exhibition,” a playfully delightful performance for young learners.

This concert features Weber’s Oberon Overture, Bourgeois’ Trombone Concerto, and Baba Yaga and the Great Gate of Kiev from Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Symphony Trombonist Thomas Stark and members of the Symphony Youth Orchestra will also perform
