Young People’s Competition

The Young People’s Competition offers students in kindergarten through 11th grade the chance to perform during a Symphony concert.

Guidelines

• Play an instrument or sing (solo, duet, trio, quartet are accepted).

• Memorize musical selection of their choice. The piece may be longer than 2 minutes, but the excerpt performed may not exceed 2 minutes.

• Reside in Lake, Porter, Jasper, Newton La Porte or Starke Counties; study with a teacher in those counties; or be a member of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Youth Orchestra.

• Must provide accompanist for auditions and for the concert.
