Mussorgsky’s virtuoso musical depiction of an art exhibit is widely considered one of his greatest works. The ten movement suite represents a viewer’s walk through an exhibition of works by Russian painter Viktor Hartmann.

Symphony Principal Trombonist Thomas Stark will perform the contemporary Bourgeois Trombone Concerto.

The overture to Weber’s romantic opera based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream will delight.
